I have an 82 honda 1.5L 4 dr that is having starting issues. It starts and runs but the carb fills up with gas causing the engine to stall. Just happened randomly one day and has been goofed ever since. anyone have a similair issue or know how to fix?

 

See if your carb has a window on the side; the gas level should be at the mark on the window. If it is overfilling, you would need to take the carb apart and fix the float valve that controls the flow of gas into the carb.

Or are you sayiing it will start and run and drive but it won't stay running with your foot off the gas? That's a different problem.

 

yes it will start run and drive but i have to keep the accelerator floored to keep the car going. I actually had to put the car in neutral with the accelerator floored when turning or stopping just to get the car to my house.
