2007 Civic EX Maintenance
Hey all
I haven't posted in ages but I could really use some input. I'm trying to figure out what to do, or what I actually NEED to do.
As the title says, I got a 07 Civic that is at about 33,000 miles. The car will be 3 years old in July and has NEVER had any service besides oil changes. What I am trying to find out is if the 30,000 service I hear about is really REQUIRED OR not. I'm confused because a Honda dealer I goto that is closer to home tells me it is, and that it will be about $400. (Yikes.) However for the hell of it today, I called the actual Honda I bought my Car at and they simply said they just tell their customers to go by the maintenance minder and come in when it tells you to.
I simply don't know how to do this stuff myself, so I need it to be done, but frankly money is tight right now and $400 could be saved for something else. But that being said, I want my car taken care of. I have a 6 year warranty and I'm also paranoid that if I don't get these services done it like voids my warranty or something. I believe I skipped my 15k maintenance recommendation, whatever it was. How long would it be ok to let the 30k one slip by...or do I need to even do anything until the maintenance minder pops up? It hasn't yet, though I am due for an old change soon, it's at about 30% now.
Is the 30k really even necessary? Anyway thanks for any input, I appreciate it.
