Default 2006 civic lx engine light

For some reason my check engine light comes on for a day or two then goes off for a few days. I put a AEM COA on the car and ever since then it has done this. Anyone know what could be causing this? I checked all the hoses and everything seems to be tight and I cant find any leak.

dont know if one can read their own codes of the '06.
too new for me

but, need to determine what the code is.
some of the auto parts stores will read the code; or just thinking, perhaps the dealer will do that since it is new.

determine the code and then go from there.

what is "COA" ??

You just might have to unplug the negative side of the battery for like 1 minute, and that should get the code to go away.

Don't do that. You will clear the long term fuel trim as well as the readiness monitors. Take it to the dealership or get the code from the auto parts store and post it on here.

Don't take it to the dealer they will most likely void the warranty for adding aftermarket parts.

You need to find what code it is storing.

You have somehow changed the air/fuel mixture ratio going to the cat and 02 sensor.
You need to see if you can either adjust the mixture back within the stock peramiters or else tweek the computer to allow that mixture.

So did this part give you better performance or better gas mileage?

Drive Safe.
