RE: 2005 Honda Ac blows hot air
arky,
do you go through extended periods of time not running the a/c? I.e. during the winter or cooler seasons? the manual is clear that the a/c needs to run at least once a week in cold or hot weather to keep the seals from drying up. Mine is a '98 and still blowing cold.
you can get a gauge that measures high and low of the a/c to see if you are low on r-134a. if you are then, you can go get a can and get the high and low pressures up to the specified psi for your model. but if there is a bad seal, then most likely it will leak very rapidly. Then you'll know that you need to replace that seal.
know that you will have to keep running your a/c year round at least once a week to prevent this from happening again. 2005 is awefully new. don't you have the bumper to bumper on it still?

Feel the refrigerant line that returns from the cabin to the compressor. Normally, it gets cold, sweaty or even frosty. If it is cold, the refrigerant system is OK but the heater box is reheating the air before it gets to the vents. There is an air door and a water valve that bypasses the heater core when the dial on the dash is turned to cold.
