2003 EX A/C problem
Hi Guys I am new here. I was hoping someone can help me out.
My AC had not been working and I got it diagnosed at the Honda Service Center, they told me the thermal protector is faulty. I bought a new one from them and replaced it today but the AC is still not working (((
It looks like everything is connected properly, and I reset the ECU ( i don't know why lol) i am new to this.
I would appreciate your help, its 100 degrees outside.

A bad thermal protector would prevent the compressor clutch from engaging but not the condenser fan from running. Does the fan fail to run? Does the compressor clutch fail to engage? Do both not work? Does the A/C button illuminate when pushed?

Hi guys,thanks for the replies.
The condenser fan is not running, and it feels like the clutch is not engaging either, the AC light does come on when pushed.
The Thermal protector has wires of its own one of which is a ground wire directly connected to the bolt, the other is a red wire connecting to the clutch, both of which i reconnected when replacing the old TPS.
I also recharged the system this morning, the pressure is ok.
Any ideas what's the next step? What puzzles me is that the dealer service diagnosis was a bad Protector, did they overlook something?
Thanks again guys.

Check if fuse #1 (underhood box) is blown.
Does the idle rpm increase when you press the button? If not, unplug the pressure switch and check that it is closed (near zero ohms between the two pins on the switch). Then plug switch back in and see if the voltage at the wires (either one to ground) on the pressure switch changes. It should be near battery voltage with the A/C button off and near ground with it on. (Not shown in the diagram, the blue wire to the pressure switch comes from the control panel and is the command to start the A/C.)

I have a 2003 civic lx and the a/c is not working either. The a/c light comes on, the fan is still blowing, but the air is just not cold. I replaced the a/c air filter and recharged the system, but still no go. I also checked all the fuses as described previously. When i push the button, it seems as nothing turns on because there is no increase in rpm nor noise of a/c. any ideas would be great, thank you!
