so like the title says my wifes 02 civic's transmission is done. started downshifting hard a couple thousand miles ago, and of course she forgot to mention this until it was too late. now won't go anywhere. if its cold i can get it to go around the block but then nothing. its got the 1.7 non vtech, 120k miles. what should i do, read something in here that any d series tranny would fit, for some reason that particular tranny is twice as expensive as any other.

 

Did you try flushing the transmission? Any transmission codes?

I know that D16 transmissions are interchangeable but the D17 is a different platform. I don't believe they are interchangeable.
