2001 honda civic sputtering and overheating
2001 civic lx 1.7 sohc nonvtec,It over heated the other day so we checked the oil and antifreeze,Both were low so we filled them.. We ran it for a couple days (till today). It was fine all day but when I stopped it started over heating (it didn't get past 3/4 of the way to the H) when I shut it off and waited till it cooled down and started it again I made it home and shut it off and started it again after it cooled down, when it warmed back up it started missing but straightened out after a min and ran fine. Last Oct we changer the water pump, fan switch, thermostat, temp sensor and head gasket,Because of over heating. The head gasket was blown at the 2nd cylinder at the front letting the exhaust in to the cooling system and blowing the coolant out of the over flow. The levels are good except for the first day. Anyone know whats going on? We changed the thermostat today and refilled the coolant. (Still over heating). Could it be the head gasket again? But would it make it miss too?

Sounds like the head gasket is blown again. Get the radiator full, start the engine with the radiator cap off and rev it. If coolant and exhaust blows out, the gasket is bad. Once the head or block is warped from overheating the gasket won't hold up.
