Default 2000 Civic EX A/C fan problem

The fan for the A/C system in my 2000 Civic EX has begun hesitating to start up, and on a few recent occaissions it doesn't start at all unless I tap the underside of the passendger side dash. When I turn the fan switch, though, I hear a clicking down by the fan as if it is attempting to spin up. Is replacement of the fan a difficult repair? What should I expect to pay for the fan itself? Thanks for any help.

I am new to this forum, so if this is not the correct area for the posting, please let me know.

I dont think changing the whole fan is the answer. There is a relay down under the pass side dash, check it out
