Default 1997 Civic

I just bought a used 97 Civic EX and every time I try to pop in a cassette, it won't go in all the way. I think it's supposed to automatically "suck in" the tape. What should I do? Should I waste some money and go get it fixed, or buy a new one and try to install it myself? I have NO experience with cars and everything in them. Thanks.

Everyone on this forum had a day/time with no knowledge and no experience. Most of them learned from someone who knew stuff, from books, from manuals. Some may had gone to school.

Question is what do you want to do. Or how much money and time do you have to spend.

maachan513, yeah you're right. But I think what I want to know is How much would it cost to get the cassette player fixed, or how much is a new one and is it easily able to be installed by following instructions.

vtecpop, thanks for the comical humor lol :P

It depends on where you are on the globe but, usually, it costs more to have it fixed by someone than buying a new unit.

Oh I see. Well I'm located in the Bay Area, CA. Do you have an estimate to how much it would cost now? and What tools would I need if I were to install it myself?

I encourage you to do your own study and research by calling shops and/or stores in your area specializing such work. You will need basic hand tools plus multimeter if you want to do the work.
