1993 honda civic dx help smog

Exclamation 1993 honda civic dx help smog

i took it to get smogged today and they didint want to doit because my check engine light wasnt hooked up. i found a couple thinks i will post picture asap but can anyone give me an idea of what to find to hook up my check engiine light there charging me 80 bucks for them to tell me whats going on with my check engine light hookup

Pull out the cluster and check for a removed CEL bulb or wires cut at the rear of the cluster.

Also check for wires cut at the ECU connectors.

Also, I don't think you should pay 80 bucks for them to run a diagnostic, you can get a decent reader for 100 dollars.

A 1993 has an OBDI system which means the cheap generic OBDII readers won't work with it.

You either need to fix the bulb so codes can be read out via the CEL blinking, or have a Honda-proprietary OBDI reader.

thank ronj your the best there was no cel bulb on the check engine now im going to scan it now because it is stayin on thank you so much you guys are great
