1992 buick riviera lights blinking. alarm?!?
I know not a civic question in civic forum, but kinda desperate for an answer and dont wanna reg with a gm forum. any way my father in-law has a 92 riviera. this weekend the lights started to blink. head lights tail lights ect. they blink for a few mins then stop. once you open the door they start again. So my thought was an alarm. Now when he bought the car the dealer. had to make the horn work. so her just riged up a switch so there is not relay for the horn like there should be. so no horn sounds when lights blink. I got some alarm schematics from alldata. i looked at the car tonight and i cant find a relay fuse or anything that has to do with an alarm. the car didnt come with a key fob of any sort. i dont know if it had one or not. Also when the lights are blinking you can start the car and drive off no issues. lights just keep blinking until they stop. So any info or any help of some sort would be great. Thanks all.

Look under the dash for an aftermarket alarm box. If you find one you can usually just unplug it and the car will work normally. I don't think those came with a factory alarm, but of course a GM forum would be a better place to ask.

After market alarms are a pain in the b---. There was one in a Jeep I bought. It caused so many problems. The best is to completely remove them every piece & wire. Because it seems if it isn't completely gone issues a rise.
