im stuck
ok the cylinder numbers are 1-2-3-4 in order from right to left when looking in the engine bay correct? because then the number 2 spark plug wire does not fit going to the bottom right plug on the distributor cap. so i dont get how that works. ill go get some pictures for you now.

and lastly this is the fuel line hose i was told to test. fuel comes out from green to red in the on position but not start. and fuel never comes from red to green in start or in on position. im not sure if that is good or bad. also my civic still does not start. so any further help would be great. will probably get spark plugs very soon. maybe wires too.

1. Fuel must continue to flow while cranking. Pull the brake handle up and make sure the BRAKE light stays on while cranking. It's on the same circuit as the fuel and ignition. If the light goes out, the key switch is probably bad.
2. Firing order is wrong. Move all the wires one position counterclockwise on the distributor so #1 is at the bottom rear post.
2a. Double check that with mechanical timing check. I think you have the same distributor as I have but not certain.
3. Test compression. It's likely that you burned up the engine by driving overheated until it stopped. Unplug the 2 pin plug to the distributor during compression test so the coil does not fire into the open circuit with the plug wires disconnected.

so i set mine up just like yours. ill try to crank it and it cranks and cranks, then i get a tinny back fire. then more cranking, then backfire, but no turn over. now what should i try =( i dont know how to test compression. o and my break light, for my emergency break stays on.

As for the brake light. If you e-brake is down, it usually means you are running low on break fluid.
