12 Volt Plug not working

Default 12 Volt Plug not working

Well i plugged my gps into the slot and it didn't turn or show the charge light i tried other things like radar detector etc...And i checked all the fuses and it was fine..cant figure it out

did you check the fuses under the hood and dash?

has it had a different stereo installed? if so they may have not plugged it back up.

I checked it but how do i know if it is bad or not? i took apart the dashboard part where the adapter is and it was plugged in and i tried removing and putting back and its stock radio

Did you check and replace the fuse for the accessory socket?

It's going to be one of the fuses under the dash. If all fuses are OK check if power is reaching the wires behind the socket, could be a bad socket. Note that the lighter socket in a Civic only works when the key is on.

ya i tried it with the car on and i think it is a bad fuse bcuz i checked the plug behind the socket and it was fine so i guessing it is a fuse problem

Problem Resolved: I took a spare 15 amp fuse from the hood fuse box and changed the cigarette lighter fuse below dashboard and it worked!

For any electrical problem like yours, always check the fuse first.
