Thanks for all the info. so far guys, but speaking of advancing timing, what do you guys think of this unit. It is suppost to some how trick the ecu to thinking the car is getting colder air, and makes more power through this electronic resistore thing.

£4.95 for a simple resistor on one leg of the IAT sensor is too much. Your local electronics shop could get you 6 for 50p.

It does help, but you are talking about 1/10th of a second faster here. Work on your reaction to the lights and launching.
