Default 1/4 mile car prep

So next week I am going to run my civic down the 1/4 mile track for the first time. I have a 2000 EX coupe with I/H/E on it. I was wondering if there was any other type of really cheap/free mods or suggestions to make my car faster for next week. I am already going to take out the spare tire, sub, amp, etc. but what about running higher octane gas, like 92 vs. 87 or running octane boosters? Any other tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

higher octane and octane boosters wont do jack...weight reduction like crazy! stripping the interior wont take to long, its free, and its easy.

You could advance your timing for a little more torque

I think you can. There is a jumper that you short and it will allow to change your timing. When the jumper is shorted, the computer does not reverse the timing change you are making. Unless of course OBDII engines and OBDI engines are different, but otherwise as long as it has a distributor you should be able to advance the timing.

Edit: I just looked it up on AllData and you can definatly set the base timing on these cars. The jumper i was referring to can be found on the passanger side of the car by the glove box i believe. And if you still don't believe me, there are timing marks on the crankshaft, what would they be for if you can't set the timing.

Yes this is my first time running on a 1/4 mile track and my car is a stick. And I have decent 195/55/15 Michelin Pilot's, should I set them at like 30psi. Also in detail how can I advance the timing?

Inflate the tires to the recommended PSI or else just a touch over (.5-1 PSI more).
