Default 05 Civic Taillight problems

the taillights on my civic do not come on anymore. well, only the ones on the trunk lid. my reverse lights do work. my rear park lights and the lisense plate lights stopped working. i checked the fuses both under the steering column and under the hood and they are all good. i have seen other civics with the same problem as mine. so, it seems like a possible increasing problem. i have been driving it so far without getting a ticket. i dont want to push my luck. does anyone know what is the problem? & how to fix it?

Probably the wire has broken where it flexes every time you open the trunk. It's inside a rubber tube. The wire will look OK but the copper inside has broken. Confirm this by probing for voltage on both sides of the flexible part. If that is the case you will need to cut out the section of wire and splice in a new one. Make the splices where it doesn't flex.

Check again whether fuse #2 under the hood is blown. Check it for continuity with a multimeter or replace it. Also check the tail light relay in the dash fuse box.

Talking found the problem

yes the wire under the trunk lid did break. how it happenned? i dont know. but i have pics to show how i fixed it. all i did was splice in a wire between them and voila!! it works. to fix it you would have to literally get in the trunk. small price to pay to work on your own car instead of having an electrician charge you an arm and a leg to fix. if anyone has this problem, this is a solution for you. thanks everyone for your help
