Unhappy '04 Ex overheating when Idling

I have an '04 EX, automatic w/100k: No leaks or clogs. Recently started overheating. Replaced thermostat and refreshed coolant using 50-50 solution. It runs fine, but the needle starts to climb when it's idling. I suspect it's due to the slow response of the thermoswitches controlling on/off for the fans, because as soon as they do kick in, the car begins to cool down. Is it typical for these switches to fail this way? Can they be adjusted or do I have to replace them? How would any of you repair this problem? Hurry! My wife has my '07 Accord V-6, and the swagger that goes with it.

Yes the fan switch can fail. It's not adjustable, must be replaced. You can unplug the switch and jump the pins in the plug to make the fans run all the time the key is on. Test drive that way, if it doesn't overheat, the switch is definitely bad.

Default Jumping the cooling fan wires to run all the time

Thanx for replying. I'm confused about where to jump wires. A device I think is the thermoswitch is connected to the casing housing the thermostat. Should I disconnect that and jump the terminals in the wire, or is there some other place I should do it. This place looks like the logical and easiest to get to. I just want to be sure I have the right component. I'm trying not to buy a manual, otherwise that defeats the purpose, you know? I'm hoping there's one in my library downtown. Even more, I'm hoping I can get help in this forum from people like yourself. Thanks.

Yes unplug the switch, and jumper between the pins in the plug on the car side. It's the only electric part on the thermostat casing other than the ground wires.
