Default 02 Si ECU ground problems

Hello
I just did a head gasket on it. Everything went fine. Went to start it for the first time but not start (cranking but not firing) Long story short I found that the ecu ground wasn't any good so I just the grounds and the car fired up. But now the engine light on(hope to get my scanner back Tuesday) and the car is in limp mood. It only revs to 3000 rpms. Where does the ecu make its ground? Any suggestion would be great Thanks!

I think it's like the older models where all the ground wires run back to the engine and ground on the thermostat housing. The "single point ground" concept helps avoid electrical noise that results from ground loops.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery (with key off) to reset the ECU? Check that all the sensors are plugged in properly. There may be some plugs that fit on the wrong thing, if you didn't mark them before removing you'll have to get a diagram and check the wire colors.

I'll see if I missed a ground there. I did check all the sensor connections and reset ecu. I wasn't the one who tore down the motor so I not sure what I missed.

Well I double, double check all the connections. Still in limp and hard starting. Does anyone know where the ecu grounds too? It's not like the old style.

What if you run the ground wire all the way to the negative battery post? That way you have a posative ground no matter what.
