Default 01 LX D17A1 Spark Problem

Hey,

My car died the other day while driving due to a bad alternator. I changed my alternator and battery. And my car still wont run.

I checked for spark and it has RANDOM SPARKING. I believe it is the distributor but im not sure. I figured that I would see if anyone had the same problem before.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Cheers

T Bone

well im pretty sure my car dosnt have a distributor. Are the ECM's or igniton control modules known to go bad on these things? Possibly a crank position sensor?

Would my car throw a code if it hasnt been started since the problem?

I am confused...

My car died the other day while driving due to a bad alternator. I changed my alternator and battery. And my car still wont run.
Sounds like maybe the alternator wasn't the problem? How did you determine that it was?

Check your fuse box under the dash and under the hood check if anything is blown.

I checked for spark and it has RANDOM SPARKING.
... Define random? It shouldn't be sequential if that's what your thinking... If you see a spark its probably working fine.

I'm assuming the engine turns over. Is it getting fuel?
