I've only seen one other exhaust manifold that was glowing red hot, that was on an old Nissan Maxima. I think the cat was clogged. And why do you need to be rich and powerful to buy an F1 car, you just need money.

yeah right. and who are you going to approach with this money? if you were ever to manage to buy an F1 car, you would HAVE to know someone, and they would have to owe you a HUGE favor.

Go up to a team owner, offer him 2 mil for his F1 car. Or you could buy a McLaren F1.

they cost well over that to build. a race team will put 20-30 million into 2 cars per year. im thinking 10-20 million might possibly get you into one, but it would be well used. and its not exactly easy to walk up to a team owner.

I figured that an F1 car would run a little more than a McLaren F1, guess i was wrong.

well as far as i know an F1 engine produces close to 1000bph (williams and honda last year) believe it or not thats a fact. if any of you guys watch races on speed you can see that the RPM is 18000 on the weakest engine say minardi jordan (last year). ferrari williams honda mclaren were on 19500 RPM plus and very close to 1000bph. williams and honda claimed to have 960-980bph for qualifying... the issue about 800C is true, they reach an extremely high temp. same with dics brakes. what im not sure about is the torque this engines can do... um...

wrong... by a long shot the engines alone (deal to have an engine for a season) is at least 14 million dollars per season. sauber was paying 50 million dollars to have ferrari engines on their cars, including electronics and gearbox. to give you an idea a set of tires (4 tires) is about 4000 dollars. they use them and then trash. 4000 dollars!!! 1 set!!! they use about 3-4 sets per race times 18 races... do the math

hey civic4ever, actually you are right about the HP, BAR Honda's V10 engine that they use is a 3.0L, revs up to 18,500RPM, and preduces 1000BHP. anyone hear that BAR is tryiong to break the speed record in an F1 car, they reached 256Mph on a pratice run... A PRATICE RUN!!!!!! damn that is fast, they are shooting for 264Mph. i cant wait to see that
