Ok. At my school football players sometimes quit to play soccer or managed both at the same time. And not everybody has to like soccer. If we all liked the same thing there would be one major sport. Oh, and to my friends in the uk, my bad, I didn't think about that, we do have crappy teams in our area. There's a good article in this months Muscle and Fitness magazine on how the US team trains. Soccer is just a game that requires alot of endurance and skill. I agree that teams who when they score, just pass the ball around to kill time, isn't how you should play. As for soccer in america, it is getting more popular. ESPN even said it isn't a matter of if it will, it's a matter of when it will. Also, look at all the young kids you play soccer now. Even the term soccer mom came about. When this generation of kids grow up, thats when I say it will get very popular.

The one thing that has convinced me to like soccer the most, is Ronaldinho. I know its cliched, but that guy is so good at what he does. The moves the guy has are just insane. He has taken soccer, or football and turned it into an art. That aerial elastica move that he has is fantastic. He does things with a soccer ball that even famous soccer stars wish they could do.
I've also been trying to understand soccer more, and why so many people around the world love it. The more I look into it and the more I watch it, the more fun it becomes. Its fast, and the physical condition that those guys have to be in to run almost non-stop for 90 minutes is crazy. Look into the Brazil team of 1970 with Pele, the 66 English team, and 98 French team, those guys are talented.
I also love the patronage that comes along with soccer/football. The fans go absolutely nuts when their team wins. I dont think anything in American can compare to the fan support that many fans give their soccer clubs. Hell, the World Cup stopped a damn civil war in the Ivory Coast that had been going on for years. Trinidad and Tobago, who are in the cup for the first time, are ecstatic that the even TIED with Sweden. Irish fans even show up supporting Ireland when they arent even in the cup!
I dont know that America will ever be as accepting and loving of soccer as the rest of the world. I think for something like that to happen we would need to do really well at it and get some exposure.
This year I think that Brazil will win the cup, my second place being France or England. It would be nice for England to win one, it has been a while. USA wont be able to beat the Czech Republic, because their goalkeeper, Petr Cech, is too good, but they could win their other two matches.
I'll be watching tomorrow at 11:55, and I'll keep watching too.
