Wii losing it's novelty?

RE: Wii losing it's novelty?
I dunno...I've never really been into games to begin with. Wii is pretty cool technology (I don't think anyone will argue with that) and like its been said, its funner having a bunch of people play, especially when alcohol is involved...but thats about it. I'd never drop coin on a gaming console and for sure never on a Wii...just not my thing

RE: Wii losing it's novelty?
I got a Wii off someone on craigslist (June 07)when it was extremely rare and popular for only $220 (amazing deal given that they were being sold on ebay for $400 and up). At first I loved it and bought some games and accesories.Around Feb 08, I realized that this is the cheapest (priced) "new" machine available and as soon as the supply fulfils the demand, the value of a used Wiiwill drop considerably. Ended up doing an even trade with someone (off craigslist, too) for a 360 Elite, games, and accessories. I feel like I got a pretty decent deal. But in the end, I feel that Wii is a good idea, but it does create it's own limitations for games.

if you sell a piece of **** painted with gold, people are going to buy it because it has gold, but in the end, it's still looks and smells like ****. that's the way i think of the wii. lol. and another probable reason as to why the console sold sooo many, is that i believe after consumers seeing the over hype of the 360 and then seeing the prices of the consoles selling on ebay after the initial release, i think they did the same thing with the wii so they bought a lot of the consoles and people gauged the prices to make a quick buck.

I, for one.. Personally love my Wii, especially since I put a modchip in it. And have over 30+ Wii games.. Sure, nintendo doesn't make bloody or gory games like others do.. But Nintendo's game are aimed for children, specifically. I personally love Super Smash Bros Brawl, Zelda, Mario Kart Wii, Bleach Wii, Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Galaxy, and various other games. Excite truck is pretty fun.. Also, Fire Emblem is a great RPG for Wii.
Personally, with games like Soul Caliber Legends, I love going around and swinging my Wiimote.. Just something about performing the moves in person to do it in game is fun. It gives you something to do, then sitting on your *** pressing buttons on a controller.

I'm with ej6 on this 100%... most idiotic idea ever.
I don't like exercise with my video games.. it I wanted to exercise, I'd f**king go jogging, not sit on my a** and play video games.

All gaming systems lost their "novelty" for me a long time ago. Sure I can sit and play a game for a few minutes but to me it is totally unrewarding and a waste of time.

i'm with you here, i bought a 360 back when halo 3 came out and i played it a good bit, but now, i can only sit down and play forza 2 for only one race without getting bored. it's just a waste of money to me now.

I don't think you guys understand.
The Wii is a stepping stone into at home virtual reality gaming. In 10 years when you have full control over your game with your remote, you will look back at the Wii and realize that it's just a step in a direction much like super nintendo and the sega genesis was back in the day.
