A combo of being poor, wanting to mod a car, and the lightweight. Plus on a whole I dont so much dislike other imports but I am not much of a fan of em. If I own another import after this it will be a 92/93 300zx, 95 or so 240sx, or a 1st gen eclipse.

 

hand-me-down...it was my bros car for 9-10 years, he never did anything to it but he kept it in pretty decent shape thankfully. once he bought his new car and got off my rents insurance, my rents gave me the civic. Im so glad that they bought a civic back then and not anyother car. it'll be my 1 year as well in about a month[sm=icon_rock.gif]

 

I had always liked the look of the EG hatch but was to young to afford one. When I finaly could get one I looked into them and was amazed by the power these little N/A engines could produce. I read about the vtec system and I was sold.
I hunted for a EG vti hatch for months and all I found was either abused, high mileage, modified ones (or sometimes a combination of all three!) Any good ones were always sold within a couple of hours of being advertised. I had no car at the time and things were getting desperate, in the end this clean looking low mileage one popped up on auto trader, It was an esi, not what I orginaly wanted but even these were snapped up as soon as they go on auto trader as they are so sort after. I drove down to see it straight away, test drove it and bought it there and then.
Sometimes I regret not waiting for a vti but I love my single cam slammer.

 

I was looking for a import, reliable car, my step dad told me that where he was working they were selling a '96 Coupe Black EX 5speed, **my dream car for the money i had**, it had 72k miles when i bought it for $1,800, it only needed new brakes and a good wash/polish/wax

gas milage, easy to modify, parts abundant, fun to drive, ive owned many cars including a datsun 510, chevy 2, camaro, 2 toyota trucks, and a few others. although id love to get my hands on another 510 i still love my hondas.

 

me too --got tired of trollin around in an 81 diesel rabbit -----hell , everybody told me the civic was the best car i owned ---even with a blown motor

 

One of my dads customers Daughter had the civic and she trashed it,Hit the curb messed the aligment up broke front bumper,hood wouldnt open and she kept running it hot and screwed up the head,windshield was punched,Radio didnt work,passsengers mirror broke So motor and all I said 250 she said alright.3,000 is my limit and i have put 2g aready into it.I love taking abused cars and turning it into something you see in a mag.

 

my Dad had a 91 CX hatch, and i loved that car, we would go for drives in it all the time in the summer.. then he traded it in for a 97 lx sedan which i also loved, then i always told my self that i would either own a civic or an integra, then last july my step father got one in and kept nudging my mom that it would be a good car for me... so she bought it for me and here i am today... if ity wasn't for her i would still be driving my 90 corolla sr5.. even though i kinda miss that car... ahh the memories[8D]

 

well in 99 i was 18 and i wanted a prelude but i would have to get a used one for more money then a brand new civic. so i went with the civic very happy since day one though for the price u can't beat it. now im civics for life
