When did you realize...?
When in your life did you realize you had a strong interest in cars? I kno almost all of you love your cars, and Im assuming most ppl who post frequently on a Honda forum do it because of their interest in the car.
When I was 15 and got my permit, I started looking at every car available since I would soon be getting one. Before it was mostly I wanted to kno about something about every car. Not everything about one car. But I guess you could say thats when I fell in love with automobiles. [sm=Awwww.gif]

RE: When did you realize...?
well my dads dad was really into cars. he still is. only european cars though. he owns porches, a lotus, range rovers, audis and others. so my dad was naturally into cars to so ever since i was a little kid he would teach me about cars. when wed be driving hed point at a car and most of the time i could name it. and he does almost all the work on cars himself. oil changes, new thermostats. so i would always watch and now or help. still do. and now that i drive and work on the car he helps me. its kind of our father son bonding time. so i guess i owe it to him

RE: When did you realize...?
I have had a big love for cars my whole life. My grandfather is really into cars and building fast trucks. My dad is in to lux cars and muscle cars. All four of my brother have always had real nice cars. When I first started driving I just cared about fast cars. Im 22 now and been driving for six years and I have become obcessed with cars. Thats just about all that I spend my money on. Anything with wheels I love just check my sig. I came across HCF when I bought my eg hatch and really liked the people here. It is differant then all the other forums and I got hooked on this site. I am on the computer all day and I keep this site open in one window and do everything else in another lol.

RE: When did you realize...?
when i had to go to a support group for my car illness. j/k!! i was like 18 when i started to get more into cars and drop skateboarding. i bought a 95 grand prix gtp, but i really wanted a 97gsx. i couldn't find a eclipse so i opted for that gm crap box. later i got a z24 and got into modding it. then rolled it. 4 years later i got an 89 mr2, then my 91 mr2, and then my 240. i really got into compacts when i was 18 but couldn't find one. after that my quest for all car knowledge grew and of course my friend group changed to gear heads. its funny though, i've always wanted a civic through out, but that damb FATF came out and they all went up in price and became unavailble. stupid movie!!

RE: When did you realize...?
Ive always had an interest in cars, and after i got rid of my truck, i started getting into cars, mostly compacts. then i got my civic as a hand-me-down about 5 years ago, and i couldnt afford to pay to get work done, so i took what i learned in autoshop in HS, what my dad had taught me, and my friends, my brother and I just started teaching each other and learning together. now all my friends want me to go to a tech school and get certified, but i dont want to just fix cars, i think that would get old. i want to fix them up.

RE: When did you realize...?
i've been into cars my whole life pretty much. my dad would be the one who got me into them. he used to take me to car shows and monster truck shows and all that stuff when i was younger and he used to work on his truck a lot when i was younger as well. my grandfather used to be a race car driver and my dads always been into cars and worked on them and so i guess it kinda runs in the blood. I got more into cars maybe just a year or so before i got my permit because thats when i started to think about my own car and what i could do with it. i dont think ill ever lose interest and love in cars, its just way to much fun...

RE: When did you realize...?
I loved cars for as far as I could remember. My favorite toys were the scale models of porsche 911 and Mb S600 ( i still have the porsche - it was made in germany, unlike most models, that are usually made in china). I started wrenching ever since I got my 1st car. I couldnt afford to take it to the mechanic, so I started working on it myself - it's a toyota, so obviously, nothing major ever broke. I did replace basic things, such as struts/shocks, aleternator and starter. That eventually evolved into modding, which I'm ashamed of, because I riced that car out a bit. After that I found a euro scene and I really turned away from rice at that point. Dont get me wrong, I am equally interested by Japanese cars, mainly because companies, such as Toyota and Honda build the most solid cars in the world. NO other manufacturer can compete with them when it comes to build quiality and reliability

RE: When did you realize...?
I was in my mid 20's, but it was just recently that I became interested in them majorly... guess now that I have the money it is a little more realistic for me. I have always liked to drive fast and take things apart and put them back together.... but just recently had the confidence of my driving skill and mechanical skill that I don't worry about screwing things up. lol So... the real answer to the question is now at age 33 i'm really interested in my car.
