well something came up today my motherinlaw needs a car so she wants to buy my 94 escort wagon for $2800. and trade me her 92 hatch in on it. so should i go for it or not i know its a escort but its a nice car and the 92 hatch needs alot of work. it needs 2 fenders /hood /timing belt and waterpump/4 struts/ radiator /windshield and it has 289.000 miles on the motor it has 498.000 miles on the car

yeah i know but ive helped her before thats how she got the hatch she lost her house and other car a 98 escort so me and my wife had to give her the 92 hatch oh she has to make paymenta on the 94 escort wagon so at this point i don't know what to do

 

wow that is a tough call. i mean what to do? what i would do is find anothe car that is for sale. i would use the 2800 that i get for the escort for another car.

If you don't need the escort to drive to and from work, get the hatch and fix it up.

dude, she's offering you $2800 for a '94 escort? I would jump on this without thinking - you will not be able to sell your car for that price to anyone else.

 

Get the hatch man, and then maybe toss some of the 2800 into it to fix it up, and maybe save some of it in case the motor craps out

 

Wives have to be constantly placated when it comes to her family. Just give m/inlaw the damn escort and keep peace in the family. I'd rather do that and put an end to the hassles,been there and done that. the hatch sounds beyond useful. You're working...buy yourself a better car.

 

get rid of that escort...youd be VERY fortunate to get 2,000 for it from anyone else...
