Mine will be a 97-98 240SX if I can find one exactly like I want in the southeastern united states, which is a stock SE in white or black with a 5 speed and under 100k on the clock. Found out with my civic to get exactly what you want rather than settling for something else, I wanted a 5 speed civic but ended up buying the auto because I got a good deal and needed a car.

ORIGINAL: Kommando

Then I still want to have a 4WD for hauling stuff and nasty snows. I can repair/replace anything on my current Jeep, but it'd be nice to have something that tows more than 2000lb and gets more than 15-20MPG. I'd also like to have cruise, AC, and possibly 4drs (for if I start a family soon). I've been considering a 4dr Tracker, or maybe a JK Wrangler Unlimited. If Toyota or somebody would bring something like the diesel HiLux to the USA, I'd consider that too. The Taco 4dr is a bit bigger than what I'd want, but it gets better mileage than the Jeep, and it tows more. It'd need to be able to accomodate some moderate-sized siped mudders and a winch.
Honestly, YourJeep will tow more than both of those and wil break less than a tracker. I would go with a 96-98 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra. If you get the 4.3L you can tow within your needs, get around 17-24mpg and have more power than your current Jeep. Go with the venerable 350 Vortec and you getthe best powertrainfrom that year for any full size truck. Run about 265hp stock with over 300lb-ft of torque easily before 4000rpm. Tow more than you would think and have room for a budding family. I'm a huge fan of these trucks (i own a 98 GMC) and they have served me well. I had to replace the fuel pump a few times but that was the only major issue. The aftermarket for these trucks are huge as well, even more so than the civics. You can get a custom ECM tune sent to you for less than 250 bucks and unleash an extra 30hp with no problem.

I like the Vortecs, but I don't need that much power. I considered full-size trucks, but they're just too big for my preferences in daily usage and offroad. The 4dr Unlimited and Taco are actually even a bit on the large side for me. I swim in a fullsize truck cab, and fitting it into a tight trail or parking space would be a chore. My current Jeep fits a lot of tight places, and the 4cyl is actually strong enough for my needs. I'd just like a longer wheelbase for better towing manners, seating for 5 small people, and the ability to fit actual offroad tires with a winch. The soft-top and doors are a huge plus too.

If Toy offered the HiLux here, Americans'd have a 30MPG+ 4WD pickup option. I hope Jeep brings a CRD engine back to the states, and offers it in the Wrangler finally. Those things REALLY need to get better mileage and off-idle torque.

I've been looking for a Hilux in my area for awhile, why wouldnt you want 100hp, 190lbft tq, and 30+ highway mpg? I found one 600 kms away that I would love to go pick up any day, butit would cost me 12000$. Be careful though, the Hilux with the 2.4L turbo diesel has a notorious head andcooling issues. Once the head is fixed it will never bother you again, and should last over 800K kms. The new head will cost you over 4000$.The toyota hilux is quite an expensive but reliable and lovable beast. I was also considering a land cruiser, but they're worth more than that, but just as reliable. I would also consider... a mitsubishi pajero, nissan skyline, nissan safari,a newer civic SI, celica all trac, integra, 4runner, tacoma, or some sort of efficient truck/suv withoutbuying GM. (although a monte carlo SS is tempting)

Likely a 4dr 8th gen--an EX in red. I think I'd explore putting a sub into it too, but we're not there yet. I don't have a time frame on a new car yet because a car payment isn't even in the budget

If for some reason I start making bank I'd get a IS250 [8D]
