This is weird
I was playing guitar and went to turn the volume down on the guitar, when I heard voices coming from my amp. At first, I was like " Hell no, my amp better not be possessed". After listening closer, I realized it was two people talking in french. It sounded like it was a french radio station. I don't speak french so I don't know what they were saying, but I knew it was french. I thought that my guitar strings acted as antennas and the sound came out of my amp. But, I then realized that I had completely turned off any sound from my guitar to the amp. And I can only hear them if the gain is up. It is pretty faint though. Classical music is playing now. So how am I picking up a french radio station from my amp alone, if itsjust a speaker. Any ideas?

What kind of amp is it? My little old 10w Ibanez used to pick up radio stations when you had the guitar volume at 0 with the overdrive on. I don't have that problem with my 100w Fender, though

What were you smokin'? It's probably just your local college or public radio station. Could it have been cajun since you are from Alabama? Chances are it is within a mile of your house for it to affect your amp.
Near my house is a high power Jesus short wave station that seems to come through some tvs and radios.

on my half stack I hear stuff sometimes. Whats really weird is, if im on my cell phone and I put that person on speaker, and put it next to my pickups, I can hear them through my amp. Try putting your phone on vibrate, and putting it next to the pickups. It will sound like Eddie Van Halen in Poundcake using a drill
