change your own oil. use a funnel and some old gallon milk jugs to fill them up, put the cap on them and drop them off at any oil change place or even some autoparts stores......
hell ive seen people carry in thier oil drain buckets to get poured into their tanks and then handed the containers back to them... but some times their tanks are full so best to give them the oil canned up.
you can even use the new oil cans after filling up the motor.
i have NEVER taken any of my vehicles anywhere for a oil change! ive heard of to many horror stories about mistakes burning up the motors so i do it all myself and know its done right!

RE: wal mart
Disposing of oil is super easy. I dump it in a 5 gallon paint bucket I have. When it gets full, I take it to the Oil Express down the street. They are more than happy to take it from me. Any AutoZone will take your oil as well.

RE: wal mart
ya im sure they sell the used oil so of course they will take it!
just like batteries they charge ya that core charge so they get your battery and sell it to be recycled as well.

RE: wal mart
oh for whatever reason i was under the impression that i had to pay for them to take it. but im wrong, so i guess its changing it myself from now on.
besides, it teaches me more about my car. IMO, people who cant do anything on their car are just ignorant and are easily manipulated. like, a mechanic telling you that you need to change your like, muffler filter or something stupid like that, you know?
but for some reason i feel that it was good that this happened to me. one, so i know not to go to wal mart anymore, and two, i was just driving home from a school function and i had stopped at a stop sign. for reference, my ECU resets every time there is no charge to it for a certain amount of time and my ECU had reset so i have to drive it between 60-90 miles before its fully back to what it was so whenever im at idle or have the clutch in and im still moving my rpm's go from idle down to where it almost dies, and then bounces back up again. so i wait at the stopsign until it goes back up to normal, and then go otherwise i usually just kill it.
anyway, back to what happened. i come up to a stopsign, and i stop and im waiting for it to stabilize which takes about 3 seconds and i just took my foot off the brake and was about to go when an eclipse FLIES through the intersection at AT LEAST 50 mph, on a 35mph limit street, without any lights on or anything. it was also raining, so my drivers side window was a little foggy, so i wouldnt have seen him.
usually i just stop, if i dont see anyone, then go, but because of this, i had stopped a little longer which i think saved my life/a lot of time, because i would have been T-boned on my side...
so i guess theres a positive side to everything. lol.
