Well boys and girls. I joined the army today. I signed the papers at approximately 17:15 on 20060407. I was then sworn in at 17:30. When i originally went into the office i was looking for something in the medical field. as i looked i could not find anything. I looked and looked with several different counselers for something and i could not finad anything. I found on which was 91W. It is a field hospital specialist. I had to sign a 5 yr contract to get a 1000 dollar bonus. I decided i would not do anything in the medical field for a while. i may switch later tho. I have joined as a Private First Class. or E-2. I have recieved two promotions and i havent even gone to basic yet. lol. I joined as a petroleum supply expert. basic i will run the fuel depot. it is a desk job and easy as hell from others who i have talked to about it. I recieved a $13,000 sign-on bonus. which i will recieve a check for 10 grand after i finish AIT. it will be 20 weeks into my service time. I ship out on 20060517. i hafta report on the night before by 1600 hours. Sorry if this doesnt make since but i have been up for almost 41 hours i think i will get off of here and go to bed in a while .lol oh yeah and i will recieve 4500 dollars a month to be put forward to any school i want to go to. I will receive after i get out of the army in 4 yrs 22 wks and 4 days. i will receive the MGIB. for $68,000. my base pay in my rank will be 1600 dollars a month. lol. this is gonna be awesome ican't waitto get my big *** check. lol.

Good luck catching bullets. As a Private First Class you aren't going to be "running" anything. But have fun. You'll see the desert quite often, keep your head low.

where are going for basic training? i wish you a good journey in your millitary service. one thing about the army take this from me a army veteran, if the drill seargent doesn't know you to well at the end of basic training then you've done a job well done. when i was in i kept my mouth shut and followed orders. trust me it will make life quite a bit easier in basic. oh yeah don't try to take cookies from the mess hall, it's not worth the torment. chew the gum in the MRE's or you'll be backed up for about 4 or 5 days. just remember to stay strong mentally and basic will be a piece of cake.
