Default Uninspired, I yearn for my Integra again

In case you missed my post in the newbie area, I recently bought a 2000 EX coupe to replace my aging Acura. I still have the Integra, and I took it for a spin tonight today after owning the Civic for about a week. I think I made a mistake, and am really not happy with this Civic in comparison to the Acura. I mean, interior/engine/handling/looks everything on my 15 year old "wreck" blows this Civic out of the water. It all came back to me driving the Integra around tonight, what an awesome machine it truly is and all. I guess I should be happy to own a reliable automobile such as the civic, but I'm only human and the Integra won my heart over years ago, and still has it.. I'm sad...so sad.

DOHC > SOHC! Who needs this Vtec stuff, give me my old engine back! Arghhh [:@]

Thanks for reading

i can completely relate. i own a 01 ex coupe, and i do love it, but it's definitely not an integra. i know i tell everyone about this in nearly every post, but the integra we had was stolen this past year. so i haven't actually driven an integra since owning my civic, but i know if i did, i'd miss it so much. eventually i want to buy a gsr that's been beaten to hell and restore it to original condition.

don't feel bad if you love your integra more than the civic. maybe you can use your civic as the daily driver and fix up the integra? post some pics of both your cars!

Thanks for the words, I'll post some digi pictures when I take some this week. Now you have me really thinking about keeping the Integra. It has 150k miles and a fair number of minor issues, would it be worth pouring money into for restoration? It would be cool, but the car is nearly 16 years old. Sorry to hear your civic was stolen, people can be so low.

I almost feel like I need to be in relationship counseling or something, this is really tough. Don't climb back into an Integra if you want to retain any amount of respect for your Civic, I'll tell you this much. The difference is so radical, it's hard to believe both of them fall under the "automobile" category if you know what I mean.

i think you've answered your own question. if you love the car that much, then it is probably worth it. if you don't have to make payments on the civic, i would just use some money each month to fix the problems on the integra. then, once you get it to where you like it, you can always sell the civic. plenty of people would love to buy a 00 ex coupe, so that would be pretty easy for you.

p.s. on a side note, it was the integra that got stolen.

Err, I meant Integra, typed Civic by accident. Yeah, I owe for the next few years on the Civic, so it's not really in my budget to pour money into two vehicles. I guess it's time to say goodbyes and "never look back."

any chance you wanna drop the integra engine into the civic? or you think the mileage is too high?

The thought crossed my mind, and 150k on these motors isn't too much IMO. I just don't have the means or knowledge to go swapping motors right now. Interesting idea though.

ill put my civic up against your integra in just about anything you want to. except i have a DX, so it doesnt have some amenities integras do. the only ones i really miss though, are power windows and locks. but im going to add those, along with a one off power steering retrofit(this wont be a normal PS swap, ive got some ideas) not to bash your Teg, I love them, Im just trying to point out that a civic isnt great for what it is, but what it can be. order up an LS motor swap for your civic, put on some quality springs and brake pads. then either swap in the interior from an integra, or order up some aftermarket seats for the civ, and it will be a better car than the old teg, simply because it will be a little lighter, have a little more power, and be a whole lot newer, and thus more reliable (providing you dont screw anything up when youre modding. trust me, ive been there more than once[:@]) but i would hold on to that integra, because eventually you are gonna need alternative transportation while the civic is in the middle of a big mod.

^Yeah, what these guys said. Give your civic some time, the more you mod it the more you'l;l grow to love it.
