Will they let you just test drive a type R?
yes, if the owner lives 5 minutes down the road from you. :-P

^ who don't you believe?

as far as specs the motor makes 195hp @ 8k rpm, redlines at 8500, runs low 14's. they are more than just the regular integra shell stripped out... the chassis is stiffened, the brakes and suspension are better, no sunroof no a/c, better seats, lighter wheels etc.
Yep the Type R is about as close as you will get to a race car from the factory from Honda. There really is alot more to the car than people think. Also the C5's that are in them with the cams that are in the head will live fine upto and around 9500 to 10,000rpm and make more power than the 195 claimed. Also you slap a set of CTR(B16B) cams in it, get a thinner head gasket, and tune and you will get near 200hp at the wheels.

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't drag race my ITR if i ever bought one. lol.

i'd be afraid i'd wreck it, and then my second dream car would be crushed.

my overall favorite car is a lotus elise/exige. nothing like all-out handling.
you probably dont want to autox it either until you get some decent suspension on it. ITR suspension is so effing soft and you'll end up upside down in the weeds with the power it provides.

Dont know if you guys get EVO magazine but they just did a piece on the best handling fwd cars in the world. They had all the greats in there, cilo williams, 205 gti etc etc. And yes the ITR won it easily.

I beg to differ, there's a guy here locally who basically owns D Stock in his ITR.

[sm=owned.gif] nice one marnie... and MHR do'nt get all "oh look at my gorgeous car" you bought it like that... ther is a guy arround town here that bought an Integra with a JDM front end swap, and he thinks he is all high and mighty.. but he bought it that way, and people find him annoying and arrogant... cause he didn't put 5 minutes of work into it to get to where it is

I'm not trying to "own" anyone, just want to get the CORRECT info out there

there's enough misinformation flying around
