MY STORY: Ahem...(haha) Basically..About 2 years ago..my friend just bought a Scion when they first came out...(I think everyone knows that they are made by Toyota). Basically, was raining, we went around a turn too fast, hydroplaned..hit a guardrail (on my side [the passenger side]) then spun out into two cement poles. My side again. Airbags were faulty..My head and shoulders went thru the passenger window. A few days in the hospital. The airbags should have gone off when we hit the first time..And I never would have been hurt, except a few bruises. Instead I had a 3 inch long cut in my head..many staples (they use staples for head injuries because they are stronger than stitches) and a concusion.

One more time... I will NEVER buy a Toyota.

oh......well, at least the seatbelt did it's job and kept you in the cabin of the vehicle as it careened out of control. Did the Scion have side airbags? From what I have seen, that technology is not 100% yet. I have heard of people in Elements with side airbags hitting a rough bump and having the bag deploy! I got rear-ended in my Element and shoved into the vehicle in front of me (over $1800 in damage to the E) but the airbags did not deploy.

My 1993 Toyota 4X4 does not have air-bags (neither driver or passenger).

Actually...I would make an exception for a Supra. Or an MR2. Probably.
