I was woken up by my mother this morning at about 10:45 telling me that someone broke into my car and stole myLCD head unit. My car was and still is at my mechanics to get the lambo doors fixed and have the a/c condenser replaced. When I got there the mech was talking to the cop. I get to looking at my car and see that my floor mats are missing, all my speakers,my CD case,not just my head unit is missing. The cop finger prints the inside and only pulls one print off of the e-brake cover and it's probably mine. I do think it is weird that they didn't take my sparco shift **** though. I was happy that that was still there and sowas my rear strut bar and myinterior is gutted because I was changing it from grey to black and just haven't put it back in so it was all in the trunk and thankfully they didn't want that either because that would have been a pain to replace. I get ready to leave and guess what? The car cranks but will not start... great. I'm starting to cus in front of my mom...[>:] Anyway I pop the hood and WTF? My spark plug wires are missing along with my ebay short ram with a K&N filter.
I go back inside and tell my mech, he calls a local store and they bring new wires and we put them on thinking it will now start. Well it doesn't. My car isn't making any spark out of the distributer. He replaced the distributer with a new one and it still is having the same problem. The ecu is still there and it appears that all the wires are not tampered with. We still cannot figure out how to get it running.

Get this, my car was left out in the lot UNLOCKED! They didn't even need to break into my car, just open the doors and 5 finger discount on whatever they wanted. We would probably be really pissed at the mech for not locking it but he is an old family friend and he now isn't charging us for the work he did to the car while it was there. (a/c compressor, repair trunk cable, fixing the lambo doors...)

I went out today and bought a newAEM dryflow and ordered a CAI off of ebay so I can get the car home after we get it running.

Long story short I'm out over $600 of parts now... and my car will not start.

it seems like alot of peoples stuff have been stolen lately. Is insurance gonna do anything? That sucks that the mechanic didnt lock the doors. Good luck.

 

I only haveliability coverage from insurance so they aren't going to do anything.

 

It was the shop's fault your car was broken in to so easily, screw family friends that treak your property like that. I'd take the dude to court or something.

 

It was an accident on his part to forget to lock it. Everyone forgets things from time to time. He isn't the person that stole the stuff.

 

^^^ don't burn your bridges. Don't take him to court man, he's doin you right by doing the labor for free. I hope he's not charging you for parts as well though!! ^^^

Such a nice car, and someones gotta be dumb and tamper w/ it. I hate that, build ur own car and stop stealing everyones elses crap.

look and see if t he main relay is still on the car. That's a popular item to steal and will make the car not start
