Everyone from out of state should be very careful
driving in tn. The cops are preditors for out of state
plates. I was stopped in cookeville a few years ago.
The police had set up a road block in the middle of
town and stopped out of state drivers only and asked
where we were coming from and what was the purpose
of our visit in tn. ...Folks this is what communists do!
I wrote a letter to the then governor sunquist and told what
the cops were doing but never got an answer. Then a couple of
years later it made national news that cops in cookeville had
stopped a couple from out of state and shot their little dog
for barking. Is there something in the water that does this
to people in tn.? my wife is from celina and says it's always
been nuts down there and she will never live there again.
I love the state, very beautiful and you can't beat the weather.

......and every person in Texas is a mexican or redneck...or every person north of the mason dixon line is an arrogant yankee *****....or every person in california is happier....I hope you see how stereotyping is a little silly. Small towns are all the same in every part of the country.
But on a serious note, cops down here do that because TN is a central point of several major interstates. IE a center point for drug trafficing going from florida or texas north.

Guns, drugs, and people running from the law in other states be it up north or out west migrate to TN. This place gets a rep of being another country, hick state but it plays a major role to everything that is illegal on the east coast. NC is like this also because I-95 runs from NY to MIA but the cops over in NC are truely like communist so people try and avoid NC like the plague when drug trafficing is concerned.
