Yesterday I got a ticket for "Unlicensed operator" because I never renewed my license when i turned 21 in october.

Anyone ever gotten a tocket for this and remember how much it was?

Also, I have a clean driving record otherwise, do you think if I renew it and then go to court pleading not guilty they would reduce or get rid of the fine? I never got anything in the mail to renew it and then i just forgot about it.

 

If it's 501-9 on the ticket, it's "no less than $75 and no more than $300." Even if you're guilty (and you are; they will state that ignorance of the law is no excuse) DEFINITELY go to court, accept responsibility, explain that you never intended to break the law, show proof that you DID renew it and that your record was clean before, and hope for the best. It all depends on the judge's mood. Come prepared to pay but hope you don't have to.
