Thinking about selling my Si...

RE: Thinking about selling my Si...
I had the bug-eyed '03 WRX hatchback. the STi's weren't out yet when i bought mine.
that WRX was scary fast.
*sigh*
I still may get a TR version again. they're bland looking on the outside but are actually faster than stock because of less curb weight.
couple hundred dollars of mods (NOT including a BOV. WRX owners laugh at doods with BOVs... lol.) and you're terrorizing anybody and everybody.
spend a couple grand and you basically own everybody short of sooped up Z06s because of the AWD grip.
I got rid of my WRX because I found myself racing too much, even with my son in the backseat - i was ADDICTED!!11. I never lost though. lol.
I highly recommend everybody owning a turbo AWD car before they die. there's no sensation like being automatically thrown in the back of your seat with no wheel slip. lol.

that's the great thing about WRXs. nobody knows what they are, until you hand them their asses a quarter-mile up the road.
especially BMW owners. lol.

i notice when a WRX goes by
and when you say keep the rims and tires does that mean sell the car without rims or did you buy aftermarket rims?

Im nervous to sell my baby back to the guy! But I kno he has bigger and better plans than I do for her, and the car has a lot of potential!

Not a big fan here of BMWs. nice cars but the steering is too heavy for my tastes.
as far as styling. rally cars have always been called ugly for good reason. they are.
but when you're rocketing down the road, all those wings and fender bulges and snout openings are for a purpose. to beat that dood in the next lane.
I remember when the original BMW M3s used to be that way. they were basically rodded 318s. super light, super quick.
not so anymore with the new M cars. all are basically sledgehammers when it comes to performance.

The black brake dust you speak of comes from BMWs and other luxury cars using organic brake pads. Organic pads are suppose to be really soft and make little noise, and owners of BMWs apparantly don't want any noise. THe draw back to organics is that they have alot of dust and they don't stop as well as other pads.

I think a BMW is more of a status type thing. It's like being in a rich mans club.
Regardless, a Subaru, and a BMW does not carry the reputation Honda does, as far as reliability. And I get 35 mpg, can you do that in any other cars that are not Hybrids?

Amanda, you need to come up here for a day or two so you can ride with me in my car, and take a ride with Levi in his Evo. maybe itll make you either want to keep the civic, or at least make you realize that if you are getting rid of the civ for more wet weather traction, you should get AWD but its tough to put snow cables on an Evo, so i like the wrx idea. if you get rid of the civ.
