I drove my civic up in Idaho for years w/o snow tires and it was pretty good on the snow and ice. That was with all season tires.
I agree that the roads are bad in the rain in Cal, but you just have to slow down. Slow down and avoid driving in the rain if you can. It only rains here what 20 days a year?
The only way I would sell my Civic is if I could afford an Acura.

Ive got a 99 Si, and live in Louisville Kentucky where it rains a ton, and I havent had any more problems with that car than I would with any other car, oh well.

If youre going to sell the Civic, get a Subaru Impreza WRX, drop in an EJ20 from an STi, snd youre well on your way to some insane speed, plus the AWD is good for the elements.

you must be So-Cal. it rains a lot up in our area. i would say over 20 days a month for about 3-4 months of the year. nothing like Seattle or Oregon, but a lot for California.

Yea it rains here a lot. And where I live, its kinda like an older town that they are making new again. Damn parents had to move us out here last year.. But I have GREAT news. The stupid kid who sold me the car (who wasnt very honest about the problems the car had) emailed me today cause he saw my ad for the car, and wants to buy it back. And when he asked me how much Im asking, I told him $1000 more than what I bought it from him for. He's really interested so Im hoping I can just give it back to him and buy a new car. Plus, Ive been having a lot of problems getting title issues resolved because of him, so I wouldnt have to deal with that.

About the Subaru's, it would be awesome to have one, but since my parents are going on the loan with me, I dont think my mom would be ok with that. She doesnt want me to have a fast car, and she has this thing where she thinks its cool to drive a beemer. haha.

And Andryuha..Im lookin at the like around 02 probably 3 series. If she would let me get the 330xi that would be awesome! I dunno, Im excited for a new car, but I bet Im gonna cry when I sell my baby.

BMW's are nice vehicles, of cource. A girlfriend of mine has a 99' 323i and I loved that car.It was like brand new. Lots of standard features that other cars don't have. She paid 17K for it and it had fifty eight thousand miles on it. My five and six keys aren't working. The good thing about BMW owners is that they take car of their cars and don't really run them that hard. Unless it's an M3 or something. The used ones are usually from someone who juust wants the latest model. Although Hondas are great but if you want more, go with the beamer. Happy hunting. The funny thing sound here is that most of the people that have them don't keep them very clean. I guess some people don't like their cars as much as we do. And almost all BMW's I see have near black front wheels from brake dust. And it looks horrible. Guess it's something with the pads. Start looking and you'll notice it.

Ok...another Q. The kid who I bought the car from just called me again. He asked wats the lowest Id take for my car and I said I wanna get atleast $500 more than wat i paid him, and he said he'd give me what I paid him, and I can keep my rims and tires. The tires are brand new Yokohama's. I kno I could sell the rims and tires pretty easily and it would be really convienent for me to sell it back to him. What do you guys think? And how much do you think I could sell the rims and tires for?

i think: BMW payments are expensive, and so is the insurance and maintenance.

*my dad had a 3-series*

but that's the great thing about america. you can buy whatever you want, and then trade out of it later, when you realize you don't want to pay for it anymore. lol.
