Default Thinking about creating my own forum....

I was thinking of creating my own forum - specifically for euros. The thing is, I really don't know much about creating one. So I got a few Q's for anyone that knows the ropes.

-Are there any tamplates available or will I have to use html (it would take me a while to create something this way)?
-Where can I host a forum? (are there any good free hosts out there?)

If you look hard enough I'm sure you can find HTML code template. Most of the websites out there are created from bits and pieces of other websites. HTML isn't that hard to learn, that is the language itself isn't hard to learn but coding all of it would take a load of time. I'm in the process of coding a site where I can update the info/prices of the car parts I'm going to buy and it's already 500 code lines long. So it's arduous work but it can be done.

haha..good luck..its a terrible pain in the @$$...a free host will be terribly slow if you have anything that takes up alot of bandwidth...there is so much to it..i dont know quite where to begin

Hmm, so free host is out of question then. How much should I expect to pay for a host then and how much web space am I going to need?

keep your HTML organized...its a lot easier to keep track of it that way. like instead of having:

<p><font face="arial" color="#00ff00" size="4"><center><italic&g t;honda civic forum is the ****</center></font></p>

have it more like

<p>
<font face="arial" color="#00ff00" size="4">
<bold>
<center>
<italic>
honda civic forum is the ****
</italic>
</center>
</bold>
</font>
</p>

it will take up a lot more space...but it will be a lot more organized and easier to edit...and people who wanna figure out how to do something you did wont go insane trying to find it. you will have more internet buddies that way

i dont know that stuff off hand..
another problem that you have to keep in mind, is that if you have a forum name too close to some other forums name, you get sued...if you used a corporate name, and someone doesnt like that..you get sued..

And if it's not a Honda forum, you'll get sued.

HMC is actually a very good company with which to deal...that "free concert civic live" is actually an affiliation of HMC, but there are companies that dont want you using their name anywhere no the website, even though the site is devoted to promoting their name and product...some of the harley davidson and porsche, to name a few, dont allow unofficial use of their name, and they wont hesitate to have lawyers get in touch with admin...[&o]
