The government should do a monthly "Nice stuff" patrol of your house to make sure that you don't have cable tv, a new tv, a new car, a nice stereo, or anything in the pantry besides mac+cheese and ramen noodles.

...and that is what grinds my gears. Back to you, Tom.

Lol yeah people on housing/welfare/food stamps just straight up BALL lol they have zero bills to pay, and free food its just outta control.

Not every person who receives government aid via food stamps, welfare, etc etc are bums or on it just because they dont feel like working or want to screw over tax payers

nice combo, and yes, not all people on welfare are in this situation, but it IS true for a fact that majority do take advantage of the system. I know several people with this situation, and I think it's ridiculous. I know people that even have good paying jobs with three or four kids with all different fathers that go get their nails and hair done every week. All with brand new cars, kids are stacked with toys and food, all while on gov't aid, bogus. And no, we're not stereotyping, we're just pointing out the people that do it, not all.

I won't say that everyone on welfare is a taxpayer screwing bum, but I will definitively say that every one of them that I've ever met and talked with is.

yea...i see alot of them people at work. they come in and buy a bunch of food and pull out the EBT cards. then they throw up all these other electronic things and pull out a stash of money to pay for it. They are all blingged out designer clothes new sneakers and such. then theres the ones that use the EBT card to buy ciggs since they get money for food and money for other non-food things. its ridiculous.

That is rediculous... there should be some kind of guidelines and policies to prevent this. And the people who really deserve it get denied... Ive seen it happen.

Oh I've got more today.

-The USPS.
<rant>
I ordered some LEDs from SuperbrightLEDs.com and had them shipped USPS. I had them shipped to my work, because I knew someone would be at that desk to receive mail all day. I checked the shipping info on Friday and it said they tried to deliver it and left a notice on Thursday at 11:54 AM. I go to the post office in a very pissed off mood, they bounce me around to two more post offices that "might have it, but I'm not sure." So I get to the third one, it's hot as hell outside, I have no AC, I'm sweaty, and pissed. The guy tells me I'm in the right place and that the driver did try to deliver it. I call up the security officer at my office, have him pull the security tapes for that time frame, and sure enough, noone ever showed up to deliver anything. With his bull**** called, he decides to go look for it, and about 20 minutes later, he returns saying that he doesn't know where my package is. If you're going to lose my ****, at least just be honest about it so I can go order some more. I guess what should I really expect from the same government that runs the DMV?
</rant>
-oh, and I hate the DMV, too.

So FAIL at a low blow to the US government.

If it stays lost - you should be able to do something to that driver. Driver claimed to have HAD product. Driver claimed to have been at your job with product. Product now lost, and he never showed up at your job.

You'd think so. However, now the driver is claiming that she never had the package. Oh well. Learned my lesson: use UPS from now on.

My dad owns a business and sends 1000+ packages a week, all by USPS. They lose about 1 a month. You might want to rethink your decision to no longer use the USPS, because it is simply an emotional decision. UPS loses way more stuff.

-When your hard-drive crashes. No viruses, no trojans, no spyware. It just crashes one day.

-When you lose every f**king file and program you have because you have to return your computer to factory-shipped condition to fix the ish.

-When you have to re-download every program you had that didn't come on your computer and accept the loss of every document you had.

-When you realize you had literally hundreds of pictures saved on your hard drive with no backups. And no way to get the pictures back.

(I'm getting a f**king external hard drive as soon as I get the money)

Oh. And any "mac > pc" comments will be edited to say "I'm a smug, arrogant douche bag". And I'm not joking about that either. Sh*t's not funny.

Been there when I had my old computer. Turned it on one day and it just wouldn't start. Lost all my music.

But yea, get that external drive and a backup manager and set it to backup automatically. I have an external drive hooked up to the router and every PC in the house is set up for network backup.

PunisherInOKC 07-12-2009 04:32 PM

Ha-UPS. Do you REALLY want to ship UPS?
I use to work at the local UPS. They made a game out of throwing ****t as hard as you could. The supervisors actually told you to throw the boxes, its quicker. And you HAD to force crap to fit. Didn't matter what happened to the box, as long as it fit.

Yeah... it didn't straight-up die, but close enough. Started running like complete s**t thursday; slower than balls dipped in molasses in the arctic and kept freezing. Ran a virus scan; nothing. Spyware scan, same thing. Defragged the drives and it didn't help. I ended up having to pretty much re-load the OS. As soon as I get financially situated here in KY I'm getting an external hard drive and making backups of everything... I'd hate to lose a few gigs of pictures and documents again. I'll put it like this... I was less upset with my worst breakup than I am with losing my files lol

- When UPS breaks **** and then refuses to process a $160 insurance claim.
I shipped my s2k cluster through them insured up to $160, and it arrived broken in Florida! The guy refused shipment, and UPS denied my claim because I supposedly packed it incorrectly. It's funny, because I remember talking to the guy in the store (Jerry) when I shipped it on 5/13, I told him how it was packed and he said "perfect". F&%K UPS

- When the BBB doesn't read what you're trying to complain about.
Filed this issue with them. Went through the entire story etc etc. They forwarded it to UPS and the UPS store responded "We train our employees to understand packing materials and standards. We told Mr. Muschamp (me) that the packing supplies he used were not up to standards". Yea, ok... I went in there with a fragile electronic item [that I paid for extra insurance on], the guy said it was packed incorrectly, and I said "Go ahead and ship it anyways"....sure. The BBB accepted that as a response.

I'll never ship anything through UPS ever again.
/rant

- When people think UPS is better than USPS... lol

neo1piv14 07-12-2009 07:11 PM

Lol you guys have some ****ty UPS up there or something. I ship servers, monitors, computers, and computer parts in all colors of the rainbow via UPS every day, and have never had them come in battered up. Here in Albuquerque, if you want to get something destroyed, DHL is the way to go.
