Tarp, plastic, trash bag windows!

Tarp, plastic, trash bag windows!
I see these newer cars all the time with busted windows, side, back, etc. Well, these people drive a 2005 Dodge Duramax Diesel, but rather than fix the broken side window, they drape blue tarp, plastic, or a trash bag over the window and then get crazy with the tape.
Now, if you can afford a truck or car thats semi expensive, why can't they replace the window?
I see this all the time, newer cars, plastic side windows, tape all over, total mess.
I did the math, say they save like $30 a month, in six months thats $180, that should be enough to replace the window. So , lack of money is not an excuse. I saw this one Dakota, the center to the guys back slider was broken out, so he got a piece of plexi glass cut it to fit, and made special mounts to adapt it to his frame. Why?
2005 Chevy Silverado= $25,000
truck payment= $485
plastic tarp window= total girl magnet.
It's like some of these people have been living like that for months, years...
