i think when i was fifteen...probably early last summer sometime...i was helping my friend pull the heads off of his SS camaro, and one of the bolts or something fell down in the spark plug hole (we pulled the plugs out to replace them that day). my fault. oh well, we were pulling the heads anyway.

i changed my brake pads and not paying attention, put one of them the wrong way. i didnt notice until i was stopping from like 30 mph and it was grinding like crazy, it warped the hell out of my rotor.

hah by far the most stupid for me............failure to double check if the oil filter seal came off with the old filter..........started a customers truck and back out of the bay. all 5 quarts were on the shop floor and trailing into the parking lot......the customer wasnt happy at all.

Rofl @ these stories.

The worst thing I've done was over-fill my civic with oil the first time I tried to change it. Was no big deal, I just loosened the drain plug a bit and let some of the new oil drip out into the old oil pan. I haven't done much with cars yet though.

The stupidest thing i've ever done is in first year auto shop when i tried to put a piston in backwards when i was reassembling the engine.

Long Long time ago....
was taking apart a blown diesel..it was going to be junked...and to save on the weight we were removing the heads. I thought to myself...Man these head bolts are on TIGHT. Then one snapped...and the next...by the third one I was like must be rusted in place.

Come to find out in a moment of brain fade I had the ratchet set to tighten...not loosen.

i did a msd cap and coil on my civic so i stuck a breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley bolt so i could rotate the engine to see if my wires going to the coil would rub on the rotor inside the cap, well got everything all done and putback together but forgot the breaker bar was still on there, so i go to crank the car over and hear this really loud sound, it sounded like a basball bat hitting a window and shattering.... i look around like omg what did i do and then looked under the car and saw the breaker bar was wedged between the frame and still connected to the crankshaft pulley bolt[:@]
