I find that general sloppiness can bother me, but strictly adhering to the rules of grammar etc is hard to do. Especially in English, I mean I'm a native speaker, and I don't get half of the retarded rules.

I disagree with the laziness theory. If somebody misspells something, it's either a typo or they simply don't know how to spell it.

And whoever said our poor education system is to blame, you were right imo.

What your saying is fine and good in the context of this forum, however, if all people know about you is that you can't spell and you sound like a moron ( not saying anyone does ) from what your posts look like, I would be more aware of how I presented myself. It's like having your car always look like a POS when with a little effort, it would look great. Getting into the habit of being lazy with your posts or trying to come off or sound like someone you're not will be a hard habit to break.
Go try and get a job and come off sounding or looking like an idiot and see what kind of position you'll be offered. It takes like 10 seconds to quickly read through your post before sending it. Some words are tricky but you'll never get them right if you keep deferring to using "prolly" instead of "probably" for instance. I can't type for **** so I know typos will creep up on you. Guys that can "touch-type" might be more prone to typos because they can type at speed. Or it might be that alot of posts are done late at night or with a significant buzz on, where you couldn't find your own *** with both hands, let alone type or spell. Remember, people only know what you tell them or let them see.
My rant for the week!!!

I'm not the human spell checker here. It's not MY place to correct anybody for anything. It's just that I see so much disregard for the written AND spoken word all over. Engineers are not noted for their command of the English language by any stretch. It has to do with us not taking "basket weaving" and loading up on liberal arts courses for easy grades. BUT, when you attain a certain level in your career and have to draft proposals and write reports and all that, what excuse are you going to use? F it, I majored in Engineering? Your target audience may not know that you have patents or are brilliant in your field. All they know is that you can't constuct a sentence or produce a paragraph of meaningful thought if your life depended on it. I have seen resumes of some guys who applied for employment here with typos and poor grammar. WTF! Your one chance to sell yourself to a potential employer and you F it up ! It not only speaks to your abilities but also to your level of respect both for yourself and your interviewer.

This forum is about fun and sharing experiences about cars. Who cares about the fine points? This topic came up and my remarks have more to do with life in general than what transpires on this site. One of my favorite expressions is " Perception is stronger than truth" . Think about it. Everyone knows the easy chick at school. She is probablystill a virgin!

Interesting point, but I still think much of it is laziness. Your post does show the creativity that you mentioned. THAT is not being lazy.
