I noticed that there are alot of bad spellers out there. Yes, punctuation and grammar is tricky, but spelling? I wonder why it is that americans and many other english speakers are such bad spellers... This is not a rant, just something I have observed during this time on the forum.

 

English is actually one of the hardest languages for spelling. With all the silent letters, vowels, and rules (ie. I before E except after C). Most other languages are spelled exactly how they are sounded out. Also, America has some bad school systems.

Man, I probably spelled some words wrong just in this post.

 

It's not just this forum. It's all over the place. I find it very annoying too. It's almost like they're too lazy to bother with it.

 

well man its hard to label the general american public as people that make spelling errors. on computer they could just be typographical errors or they could just not want to type out something. so do not label every american as a bad speller thank you.

 

I stand by my "lazy" observation.
