screw the Si...

RE: screw the Si...
yeah the exige is coming to the states now.
it has more downforce than an elise with a removable hard top, small but nice looking rear wing, front splitter, a rear engine cover for better areodymanics. the price is going to be around 50k and only 300 or so will be built this year, all of them will be built by hand

the elise starts off at about $40k this year, but you can load several different packages onto it.
the exige will be $10k more because there's only gonna be 300 or so made this year.
I'd take either one.

no the elise is right in that price range. a few years ago C&D did a story on it. it was a comparison between the Factory Five MkII, the Caterham Seven Superlight, the Mazdaspeed Miata, the s2000, and the elise. so its about in that price range.
ps thats the finishing order, last to first. the s2000 and the elise whooped up on the competition

almost all of the euro car enthusiast magazines have basically declared the elise the best handling car in the world, and europeans take their driving SERIOUSLY.
and the reason elises are so cheap is because it's basically an aluminum tub with some body panels, a simple Toyota-derived drivetrain and some wheels. lol.

because numbers are just that. numbers.
bmws usually have good numbers but not great, but their 3-series are often deemed some of the best handling cars in the world.
preludes, before they were killed off, had pretty good numbers too, but nothing eye-ball inducing. but they were still deemed the best-handling FWD cars you could buy.
it's basically subjective. you have to actually drive the car, as well as all the other cars. something most people will never get a chance to do.

cha' right. lol.
e
lotuses were famous for their british quality, back in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, if you can call it that. they're essentially handmade sportscars.
BUT, they do have a toyota engine and drivetrain so at least the engine will crank when the body panels fall off.
they don't call 'em exotic for nuthin...
