Rwd

I guess I should have listed the AWD as my personal opinion and preference, and not as an attack on AWD. Lol. I've driven a few, and found i had to preset a lot more before a corner.
I do realize there are other forms of racing other than Nascar. I'm not a Nascar fan. I guess I'll just take the dumbass award of the day for my previous comment, and ask where you are seeing FWD racing.
And yes, my post refering to someone speaking spanish was aimed at Nike. Either he or a mod deleted the post.

As for the whole FWD thing, Rally, for starters...

And autocross. And if anyone wants to completely discredit themselves by saying people with FWD applications don't do well on open tracks, be my guest.
Punisher, are you trying to tell me companies like Spoon spend tens of thousands of dollars to build FWD race cars for sh*ts and giggles? Because if so, they need to re-think their business plan.
And I, too, am curious as to what AWD vehicles you've driven? Were they performance-oriented cars? Or were they your run-of-the mill grocery getters? Hell, even a Suby Forester XT will run circles around quite a few cars, stock for stock.
As far as fwd not being able to handle that well, take my old ej1 for example. My record for going around a right-hand turn (with an advisory limit of 25) was just 7mph slower than my record on the same turn with my bike. Setting the record on my bike, I was hanging off the d*mn thing and still had it to the edge of the tires, so you (as a rider) can imagine the speeds involved (I'm not going to disclose the speeds because I don't feel like incriminating myself). Did I mention while setting this record in the civic I didn't leave the lane nor did I hear a peep from the tires?

Who says you cant pre-drift for a corner in a FWD? Have the rear suspension set up right and it's more than happy to be tail happy. That and running higher tire pressure in the rear also helps. Sure, I'm going to lose more speed, than a RWD in a power slide, but if I'm racing a comparable RWD like a 240 I'm fairly confident that I'll be in the front coming out of a corner.

I've driven a mid-mod 97 talon tsi, and 2000 EVO < engine mod only> at Hallet Raceway in Jennings, Oklahoma. I'm not saying the cars suck on a track. Your getting me wrong on this. It was just soo much more work to keep the cars on a good line. You have to prep the corner a lot more, and know when to accelerate out. Its not very forgiving for a person who does not know the car inside and out. I found myself having to correct a lot in both cars. The Evo was much better than the Talon when it came to exit control, but felt a little too squirly if you really tried to push a corner.
Ok, their are FWD cars in rally. I forgot all about rally. My bad. Slap my wrist and throw me in the corner. Time out time for Punisher. What I'm getting at is I do not see FWD classes in the higher end racing, such as the American Le Mans Series. And stop taking this like an argument - it is a conversation. I have already acknowledged the fact that I was mistaken. I'm trying to get properly informed.
And reaper - I'm NOT saying honda/FWD can't handle. My lil 90 civic taught me WAY better. I have been chased while driving that thing, and lost many of people. < I was in the wrong crowd, **** hit the fan. had to run for my life>
And I'm shocked. StifflersMom knows about pre-drift. =P
