It takes you guys 2-3 hours to put a computer together? Takes me around 15-20 minutes to assemble everything, another 15-30 minutes to install windows (depending on the computer), then another 30 minutes to install all thedrivers.

btw I made my network to work...logitech gamelink is a waste of money. If I didn't get it for free I'd use two wireless routers instead :-D RDP over game link is a nightmare, but it runs well as an internet-only terminal.

apparently you are not dealing with high end, custom systems...and wierd configurations.

Conroe e6600
Asus P5B Deluxe
2x1gb DDR2-800
4x320gb SATA2 in a RAID 10 array
And the other basic parts to a computer fairly high end and custom, and also
2x Opteron 275
Tyan Thunder K8SRE S2882-D
8x1gb DDR400 ECC
8x150gb WD Raptor 10000rpm Drives RAID 10
Highpoint Rocketraid 2220 SATA2 Raid controller
PCP&C Turbo cool 850
Etc. would also be considered fairly high end and custom. No, I deal with machines like this, I've just built up speed doing it for the past 6 years. My record was a midrange gaming computer assembled (From parts to POST) in 8:36.

RE: Riced out my computer!
its not like its difficult to put in a bunch of screws... especially if you've got a decent power screw driver

As long as you support your computer yourself, its fine with me. When I start supporting your pc and/or your network, forget it, I want you running XP pro and IE

software problems since purchase: 0
hardware problems since purchase: 1 (i took it to apple to replace a faulty backlight inverter, it wasn't broken, it just emitted a high pitched whine like a tv)
crashes since purchase: 0
i got a company provided dell laptop in July,
software problems since july: 20+
hardware problems since july: 3 (two hard drives, and a bad stick of memory)
crashes since july: 30+
even back in the days when I had a homebuilt AMD based PC, windows was still it's downfall, programs would crash, or it would BSOD... my favorite was when windows updates would cause bsods
and as far as ad-hoc networking and even corporate networking go, the mac is much easier and much more resource friendly
