anyone ever had to get a rear windsheild replaced?....this is in a ford areostar...im just trying to get a ball park figure....its the rear windsheild and has a defroster.....i was moving some roll away tool boxesfor a freind and to make a long story short....they slamed into it and shatterd it....its my dads truck and i need to fix it.....my friend is gunna go to the junk yard and try to get one but if he cant find one im gunna hvae to pay to get it fixed....any ideas on cost?

 

damn, i remember doing this on my moms old minivan a few years ago, seems like it was a couple-few hundred. but i cant remember if that included the rear hatch too. (family "friend" was driving and got rear-ended) i think it did. dont know how much that helps. and i am getting a new front windshield for my car for 189 installed, so it shouldnt be too much more than that.

when i smashed out my windshield from my accident i think it cost me 500 to replace, think it's more the for the rear because of the defrost.

 

yea i called its gunna be around 400....im hoping just to find one at the junk yard..cuz i deffinatly dont wanna spend all that money....thanks for the input on the subject everyone

 

that sucks... by law here the insurance company has to replace it for free.

 

It was a pain in the *** on my old hatch. They smashed out the backlight to grab my sub enclosure. I got to practice and see how everything worked getting the old one out at the wrecking yard. They charged me $40. [:@][:'(]

 

yea my dad went this morning on the way to a job and he said they had like 6 there and its like 50 bucks...so if it quits rainig im gunna head out there...and remmy...i think its somthing like that here too but they only do it if u have full coverage or somthing....
