Default popups!!!

So I got on the computer this morning to check my emails (to see what fun car parts I'd ordered had shipped out).. absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Now, I get back on 9 hours later, and it's popup city (I've only been on hcf, so I don't know if it's site-related or what). I ran a spyware scan and it came back with over 100 cases... now, the popups aren't nearly as bad, but since scanning (and quarantining/deleting the cases), I've still had a few popups, along with a "The page you are viewing is trying to close this window. Do you wish to close this window?" message.... is anybody else having problems like this, or am I the only one? Any suggestions?

IE... and what's confusing me is the popup blocker I have normally works... it hasn't come up to show me that a popup has been blocked at all today.. it just lets the popups through.

EDIT: and I have a google toolbar thing... 37 popups blocked so far (but it's still letting them through)

use firefox: much safer and faster browsing.additionally, with firefox, get adblock plus and ALL ads/banners you might see online will be gone for good.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

you'll be asked to restart firefox. once you do that, it'll ask you to "subscribe" to a list that is constantly being updated with new ad images and banner addresses. choose the US list and you're set to go
