i'd say for street driving, there isn't much of a point. racing is different. so is the cost of parts, but also the budget! it is expected in racing that there will be much wear and tear on certain components, so it is ok, as long as the gains outweigh the loses.

Your still wearing on sycronizers in the transmision even if you rev the engine you cant match the revs in the transmision its synconized? i mean to a certaint point maybe but not like everyone is like OH IT WILL NEVER GO BAD

The point of heel and toe shifting is very clearly defined. And there is definitely reason to it, that's why most of the fastest drivers in the world do it (at least where applicable.) Under ideal technique, it does not do any wear and tear to your transmission. It is actually very easy on your transmission. The point is that you match the engine speed with the speed of the wheels. You are not relying on the clutch for bringing your engine up to speed, you are doing it yourself. It allows race car drivers to be in gear while in and exiting a turn. For example, lets say you are under hard braking going into a tight turn. If you were in fourth gear before, and now are going slower, you may need to be in a lower gear. This would require shifting after exiting the turn which slows you down. Heel toeing allows you to shift while under braking (while you don't need the wheels to be driven) so that you are already in the gear for exiting the turn by the time you are in it. If you have any questions aobut it, let me know, I am quite well versed. (with regards to this topic)

exactly! no offense to marty since you disagreed....but i would trust all the pros i've seen use this technique over anyone on this forum or any other forum i'm on, any day! i'd say there is little point using the technique on the streets...but racing is different.

Doesn't seem very pointless to me. Granted, I have never tried it, but it seems like it would work out a bit better. You could concentrate more on the road and less on shifting...

I don't really understand what you're asking. If you're saying you can shift during the turn, yeah you can, but pro drivers want to be in gear already so that they can steer with the throttle throughout the turn.
