true man, I really don't completely understand being on my own yet since I do still depend on my parents for certain things, however I definitely feel like I am one step closer and I am definitely enjoying the freedom. For the first time, I do not need to run my plans by my parents, nor do I have to ask them permission to do anything. I am responsible for managing my own time, and keeping up my own grades to keep my scholarships, because if I lose scholarship money, that just means more is coming out of my own pocket. It's cool and weird having all this freedom.

 

Congrats, have you started classes yet?

Like you, I just started my first semester in college, and even though I enjoy the freedom, I miss home a little bit (especially my car, lol)...Have fun, don't party too hard, and make sure you keep your grades up, even though you've prolly have heard this a million times

 

You have to make sure to keep on top of your class work while living on campus. I've seen a couple of people fall into big time academic holes b/c they live on campus and decided they didn't want to do anything. You are paying alot of money, so get your moneys worth. Also, I would recommend getting a campus job. I don't live on campus but I work in the computer labs at my school. Its a pretty good gig, you can work in between classes if you want and the job is pretty easy.

 

yeah a job will be a good idea...but i want to give myself a semester to get acclamated first. I will for sure be working full time in the summers though. I start my first day tomorrow.

 

Yeah, my cousin just called me today from his dorm room. This is his first time out on his own too. I dont think the fact that he was gonna have to do his own laundry had hit him yet. ROFLMAO

 

Yup, but there is a laundry room a few doors down the hall, so it's not so bad, I just start it, then go play ping pong until i pick it up.

 

I have to pay for all of my college, so be thankful! I am strapped for money, but I still like to tinker on my civic.

 

dude i cna totally feel you, me and my dormmate where just talking about that, like you dont need to ask permission anymore, or check if parents are home to have girls spend hte night, idk, it like finally hits you when someone asks you to go out for hte night and you think "Oh sh*t i gotta ask......wait, no i dont"
